Zeemote
Setup
The Zeemote uses your device's bluetooth support. But turning on bluetooth and the controller is not enough to make it ready to use. You also need to pair the controller with your Android device.Pairing the controller on most Android devices is not difficult. You simply go to your bluetooth settings, scan for the device, then click "Pair". When asked for an id, enter 0000.
Some Android's may not enable the "Pair" button or may not allow 0000 as the id. For these, you'll need to download the Zeemote JS1 Quick Start app from Google Play. Use the app to connect to your Zeemote. After the first connect, the app will have paired your Zeemote with your Android and so the pairing will now be completed.
Starting game
To start a GallantRealm game with Zeemote, first go to the Settings page and select "Zeemote" for the controller. This setting, like all others, is remembered between plays. Then, press Play to start the game as usual. After a moment, you should see a message from the game indicating that it is trying to connect with the Zeemote controller. This message will remain until the Zeemote has been successfully connected. There are a variety of reasons that the connection might fail, and the game will keep on trying. So, if it does, check these things:
- Is bluetooth turned on?
- Is the Zeemote turned on?
- Did you pair it earlier?
- Is the controller out of range?
- Does the controller need new batteries?
Using in game
For all of the Gallant Realm games, once the 3D portion of the game is started, you can use the Zeemote to control everything. This means we've mapped the joystick and buttons to all the functions of the game. The joystick is fairly easy to figure out, but the buttons you might need some help with. There are four buttons on the Zeemote. They usually map to the following in the games:
Button | Function |
1 (front-bottom) | The button that appears on the top-right of the screen. Usually, start game. Also, the OK or leftmost button on dialogs. |
2 (front-top) | The button that appears second down on the right. Usually some special function, like Nitro in Race the Robots. Also, the Cancel or Quit button on dialogs. |
3 (bottom) | Change view function |
4 (top, power button) | Pause the game. |
Keep an eye out for buttons appearing and disappearing on the top right. The intention of this is to make certain functions available at the right times for Zeemote use, but the buttons can also be pressed when not using Zeemote.
